As some of you are probably already aware of, the EU is looking to enact new copyright legislation that threatens the free internet as we know it here in Europe.
This new law, called the Copyright Directive, will allow big companies to impose censorship on whatever you share online, that includes livestreams, remixes of songs, parodies and more that they don't like, yes that even means memes aren't safe either.
And as you'd guess from the part about livestreaming, this also means that people who livestream games and such will be at the mercy of big corporations, so YouTubers like Brian "The Gaming Terroriser"and Brett "TearOfGrace" along with many others could be looking at their Twitch channels getting shutdown if this law is allowed to be enacted.
The EU are gonna have a vote on it in June and that means time is of the outmost importance now, you have to spread awareness about this to your MEPs that represent your country in the EU and tell them that they must vote against it.
This website here will help you in finding out who represents your country as well as different ways you can contact them:
We the people of Europe need to stand up and show that we will not tolerate this, so please spread this around!
